MACKAY’S revitalised City Centre has a vibrant look and efforts to activate the space are ongoing.

From the popular annual Twilight City street parties to the recently announced Farmers Markets, there will be plenty to do in the City Centre in 2016.

And the littlies haven’t been forgotten, with the MLC Advice Mackay Easter Carnival in Caneland Park this Sunday, followed by plenty of school holiday activities.

Economic Development manager Debra Howe said the Active Kids in the City school holiday program would begin after Easter on Wednesday, March 30.

“The fresh, new look has created a good vibe in the City Centre and the range of events and activities throughout the year will build on that,’’ Ms Howe said.

“It’s all about attracting people to enjoy the revitalised City Centre and our school holiday program to keep kids active is part of that strategy,’’ she said.

“While the kids are being entertained during the school holidays, mums and dads can do a spot of shopping, have a coffee or dine out in the City Centre.”
