Active In The City

There are plenty of ways to get Active in the City!  From running, self-guided walking tours, to Zumba, our Active in the City program will keep you just that – active!

An initiative of Mackay Regional Council in partnership with city businesses, this ever-changing program provides a range of fun and exciting physical activities free of charge for one and all to enjoy.

It’s a great way to try your hand at a new sport, meet new people, explore the city and stay fit and healthy all at the same time.

All activities cater for varying levels of fitness and ability and are suitable for beginners.

Our current program includes:

  • Zumba Fitness with Elena at Bluewater Quay every Sunday, 9am – 10am
  • Learn to Run with the LRC Running Club.
  • Tai Chi at St Patrick’s School Hall,  from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.  Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes and don’t forget to bring your water bottle.
  • Mat work Pilates at Bluewater Quay from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.  Bring Pilates mat and water.

Our program is currently having a break during January but will return in February to kickstart the year.

New activity providers are always welcome to join the program and can register their interest here.
